Since 1989, Lake Chalice has been crafting wines that capture the essence of Marlborough—vibrant, expressive, and always approachable. From the bright and fruit-forward styles of The Nest range to the refined elegance of Plume Méthode Traditionelle, Lake Chalice offers a wine for every moment, whether it's a casual evening or a special celebration.

At the heart of Lake Chalice is a deep respect for the land. With a strong focus on sustainability and innovation, winemaker Chloe Gabrielsen carefully crafts each wine to reflect the region’s unique character. Every bottle tells a story—of Marlborough’s sun-drenched vineyards, cool coastal influences, and the dedicated people behind the brand.

This week, we’re celebrating Lake Chalice with exclusive offers across the range. Whether you're stocking up on everyday favourites or searching for something new to discover, now is the perfect time to explore these exceptional wines.

Winemaker - Chole Gabrielsen

With a passion for Marlborough’s dynamic wine landscape, Chloe Gabrielsen brings expertise, creativity, and a deep respect for the region’s terroir to her role as winemaker at Lake Chalice.

Chloe’s journey into winemaking was fuelled by a love for both science and nature. After earning her degree in Viticulture and Oenology, she honed her craft with hands-on experience in wineries across New Zealand and beyond. Her approach balances tradition with innovation, ensuring each wine reflects both its vineyard origins and a sense of modern elegance.

At Lake Chalice, Chloe oversees every stage of the winemaking process, from vineyard to bottle. With a strong focus on sustainability, she works closely with growers to craft wines that are vibrant, expressive, and true to Marlborough’s signature style. Whether it's the crisp, fruit-driven Sauvignon Blanc or the refined complexity of Plume Méthode Traditionelle, Chloe’s wines capture the essence of the land and the people behind it.

Her dedication to quality and innovation continues to shape Lake Chalice, making it a standout in the Marlborough wine scene.

A nest is a place of safety and nurture, where life begins. Careful selection of materials and location ensures a strong foundation, allowing growth before taking flight.

Nest wines follow the same philosophy—sourced from select Marlborough vineyards, offering expressive flavours and an approachable style. An ideal introduction to Lake Chalice, crafted for everyday enjoyment.

The Karearea, New Zealand’s native falcon, soars on every bottle of Lake Chalice. Once abundant in Marlborough, now under threat from pests and habitat loss. Support for the Falcon Trust aids conservation efforts to protect this remarkable bird.

The Falcon range stands as the core of Lake Chalice, showcasing signature vineyard expressions across a diverse selection of varieties.

Raptors are nature’s elite hunters—sharp-eyed, powerful, and vital to New Zealand’s ecosystem.

The Raptor range reflects this strength, with select parcels of exceptional fruit chosen for pure varietal expression. Crafted with precision, these wines stand as superior examples of their kind.

In te reo Maori, Raukura—the feather—is a symbol of honour and prestige. Reserved for those of great mana, carrying deep significance.

The Plume range embodies this spirit. Made only in exceptional vintages, a pinnacle of Lake Chalice—where tradition, terroir, and artistry converge. A wine to savour, a moment to treasure.

LAKE CHALICE

Lake Chalice are intimate inhabiters of their land, its climate and its seasons. Under the oversight of Head Winemaker, Chloe Gabrielsen, they draw upon Marlborough's singular regional diversity via their unique vineyard sites. Mainstay of the portfolio is the Falcon series with its signature flavours. Given the New Zealand falcon, the karearea, graces all of their bottles, it's no surprise that Lake Chalice are proud supporters of the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust. Thanks to introduced pests, persecution and electrocution by power lines, these magnificent birds are under threat and increasingly hard to spot. Lake Chalice work with the Trust on the Karearea Release Programme to repopulate the region. Their most recent innovation is the introduction of a hack box in their Eyrie vineyard (where the birds can shelter and be fed before being released into the wild) and insulated electrical transformers close to the vineyard to protect the birds. The hope is that by giving them time and safe shelter, the karearea will remain in the area upon release.
